Go and make disciples of all nations . . . teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20
A disciple is a learner. As women, wives, mothers, friends, we are constantly learning. We learn not to wash brand new black skinny jeans with a favorite white shirt. We learn to hide the dark chocolate behind the flour on the top shelf. We learn to wrap the Christmas presents before the kids get home so they don’t find them in the bag by the door where you forgot them. Not that I have done that.
We learn that our souls need nourishment from time to time or we are too dry to water the flowers growing around us. We learn that we are not our husbands’ Holy Spirit. We learn that the worst in us is often mirrored in the words and actions of our children. We learn that locking arms with a soul sister makes the uphill climb a little more bearable.
I want to be a disciple of Christ. I want to walk with Him like the 12 men who dropped their nets and their gold coins to follow the Son of Man. In each of my roles–woman, wife, mother, friend–I want to learn how to become like my Rabbi. MrsDisciple.com is a chronicle of that learning journey. It is a place for us to learn together and to encourage holiness in one another. I stand in the shadow of our Savior waving at you with excitement, “Come with us! Follow this Man!”
