#FridayFive Smiles

One of my favorite #FridayFive writing prompts is Five Smiles. It causes me to be intentional about looking for the bright spots during the week. Life is so hectic, it is easy to save thanksgiving for the third Thursday in November. Friday Five Smiles is a platform for giving thanks all through the year. Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Psalm [Read more...]

The Perks of Being 38

Birthdays, like New Year’s Day, are a prime time to assess one’s life. I process life with pen and paper. So, for my 38th birthday, I decided to make a list of things I have going for me. I almost didn’t write this. It has been an exhausting week in my world and I didn’t think I had the energy to think of five good things. I have hobbled around on a broken toe, worked extra days, gotten up early to meet deadlines, and yelled at my husband after leading a small group where we discussed not being a pushy broad. Then it hit me: weeks like this are exactly when I need to [Read more...]

So I get to reflect on where she has been and rejoice in who she is. Reflecting back to before she became “Mom,” back when she was “Mommy,” I can imagine the struggles we kids never saw. Having 4 kids must [Read more...]
